Last year, I was approached by the Bishop of the Episcopal Diocese of South Dakota, The Rt. Rev. John Tarrant, to gauge whether Super Parenting LLC would be interested in providing parenting classes for one of the churches in his Diocese. He expressed to me a desire to fulfill a very specific need to learn parenting for a young congregation of Episcopalians who also happened to be Sudanese immigrants, many of whom are referred to as the "Lost Boys of Sudan". Their story is both heartbreaking and triumphant at the same time. "The Lost Boys of Sudan is the name given to the groups of over 20,000 boys of the Nuer and Dinka ethnic groups who were displaced and/or orphaned during the Second Sudanese Civil War (1983–2005); about 2.5 million were killed and millions were displaced.[1] The name "Lost Boys of Sudan" was colloquially used by aid workers in the refugee camps where the boys arrived without any parents." In 2001 nearly 4,000 "Lost Boys" were allowed to resettle in America. Now there are over 10,000 residing in the US in 38 cities. Sioux Falls, SD, where I currently reside, is one of those cities.

As a servant of parenting education needs, we deem it necessary to serve the accessibility needs of parents as well. In so thinking, we are now working to upgrade some of the features of our online classroom to make it easier for parents to participate in our classes and receive their certificates in a timely manner. We are also working to increase our course offering for you, as well. That being said, we have rolled up our sleeves, understanding that we truly have work to do. And we’re doing it! At this time however, our free parenting class is currently unavailable to new students while we are in the process of upgrading.
There are plenty of great things on the horizon for Super Parenting LLC and we hope you will join us as we continue to provide live parenting events both in person and on the web, books and classes. Our newsletter and participating in the Super Parenting Social Network are the best ways to stay abreast of all that is to come.
We always appreciate feedback, and if you have had an experience you would like to share, or need answers for, we would like to hear about it. We’re here to serve you, and that means you need to tell us what you need. This includes what you like, and unfortunately, what you may not have liked. Everyone willing to participate and join the Super Parenting Social Network and leave feedback is entered to win a free autographed copy of SUPER Parenting: Raising the Next Generation co-authored by Super Parenting LLC co-founders Jacqueline Parker Scott, Ed.D., MBA and Olympia Scott, a bookmark and a color copy of the SUPER Parenting Oath.
We appreciate your patronage and look forward to serving your needs further.

This past summer, we boasted a big move of our Super Parenting Social Network to a new platform. Our goal was to provide an easier log-in process between our different websites. We also hoped to provide more services within the network as well. After much debate, however, we determined that our previous site was much more user friendly. Therefore, we’ve moved SPSN back to Ning.
We’re now located at an easy-to-remember url: SuperParentingSocialNetwork.com
Please view our Getting Started Guide which includes a Getting Started Video to assist you with jumping right in and participating on the network. Remember, it takes a village to raise a child and this is our village.
